Through an extensive and detailed research which has led to the recovery and presentation of the 18 textile patterns that make up this first antique Venetian fabric collection.  Chronologically ranging from tenth century Byzantine samites to Art Deco damasks without neglecting a vast assortment of decorated papers from the  eighteenth century examples produced by the Remondini printworks in Bassano through to those of the English Arts and Crafts movement in the second half of the  nineteenth century.

Luxurious Venetian style hand printed fabric, Venetian damask dating between 1730 and 1740, described by a large signature of fleshy foliage in honour of the Venetian family Foscolo. Pattern repeat 105cm.  Width 140cm.  Price is per meter.  The raw material is fine Egyptian “mako” cotton, specially woven in Italy and then hand printed.  The soft nuances of its delicate natural shades are highlighted by the iridescence of gold, silver, mother of pearl, copper, verdigris and the cold sheen of steel.
